"Masters of Doom" was the best piece of literature I have ever read! It is an American masterpiece that should be taught at schools instead of the novels of the past. Hope this is not getting ahead of myself.

Yeah I'd advise anyone that appreciated this clip to read Masters of Doom. Reading it will guaranteed make you start thinking about the time/years when each game came out. Funny reading about the side of things you couldn't see at the time. Thanks for posting this!

hehe "its called texture mapping!", gosh darnit. isnt the past amusing? i loved the first wolfenstein, with its comedy germans. In fact i always maintained that they should have gone further with that and not spent all their efforts on doom. and romero certainly isnt going to make me his bitch with that hideous mullet on his noggin.

well not really... Carmack became more popular only after Quake, before that Romero took most of the credit. Pretty unfair I would say.

Yea he would have been if this video was after doom 1 :D

Of course it would've been better if i even had been old enough to join a game development company back then. It must've been great to work there.

Oh hell yeah. That was a simpler time, but the games were so, good.
