I'm 16 this yr and eventually wanna live in Honolulu(or at least,stay there for quite a while) cos I've never been abroad and live in the UK........ is that just wishing my life away? lol

Man, I spent 3 years there, from 1984-1987 (U.S Marine Corps). You are looking at a serious 10, you'll have a blast.

I would think military got it easy as a part. I can only think you'll probably be stationed to Schofield, Barbers point, or Pearl Harbor NAS. By all means those places aren't always paradise material. But local/tourist wise, I agree with computersoap1. Only if you have a lot of money it's sweet.

Well cold is relative. "Cold" in Hawaii is still a good sixty degrees warmer than what most of us in Canada or the northern US states get to live through. And besides, I always found the winter trade winds kept temperatures much more pleasant and moderate

well, its a great place, but only if you have lots of money, cuz i lived there for about 8 months and at the end i hated it there! but i kinda wish i was back there again for some reason.

Well, my dream is to retire there and I try and get back every 2-3 years in the interim. I'm also a city boy at heart, so I like the hustle and bustle of a good urban center. So you can say I'm a little biased, but to me Honolulu is a 9 easy
