just out of curiosity, what are the effects of radiation in a situation like that...I know of nausea and vomiting but what else may occur? RIP, and godspeed to all the people who were involved in the disaster.

YAY! Absolutely right! I cannot imagine what that must have been like for those pilots and crew. Did I see that right? They flew into a crane cable? Oh my... They probably lost all sensation and function as soon as they were exposed to the core. It's amazing that they made it as far as in as they did. That was such a low altitude.

It's stupid that you say that because they're flying over a cooling tower which is probably giving them massive amounts of radiation and killing them causing the crash

Well said. To all those who are saying dumb arsed pilot, how would you cope when your hands are probably in intollerable pain, you're feeling sleepy from radiation sickness, but you've gone up for a third or fourth time. Yes there was pilot error, but in the circumstances it is entirely excusable. The crew of that chopper were effectively already dead.
