Why is it so bad that Hawaiians want to speak Hawaiian in Hawai'i?? I might be young but I can hear and see what's going on. If that's what's going to happen then I guess I'm going to be breaking the law b/c I am not giving up my culture!

unless the deeds were sold by a hawaiian who owned that land.. it wasnt the sellers to sell seeing as it was stollen land. WE (hawaiians) had deeds also (given to us by our royalty or ali'i) but were killed, beaten and raped for our deeds. who ever you bought the deeds from had no business selling what wasnt his to sell!

average price for a home in hawai'i is $600,000 (3bd, 1bth), minimum wage in hawai'i is $7.25 now IF you can do math.. why dont you use those figures and figure out for yourself why theres so many FORCED to live on the beach! -- cold hearted bastard.. i dont know, ignorant bastard.. definately!

actually most hawaiians do NOT like being part of america! atleast not by force.. we shouldve atleast been given the choice. when we were asked if we wanted to be part of america 90% of hawaiians said NO! after that they decided to overthrow hawai'i and ban the speaking and learning of hawaiian language, hula and culture.. it was against the law. now WHY would we want to be a part of a country that puts so little value on us, what we want, our land and our culture?

I'm not sure where you're coming from, but I spent my childhood on Makua beach, and my grandfather lived there. The government removed him and many others from that area in the mid 1990's, threatening to bulldoze their tents if they didn't leave. This government is so concerned about Hawaiians living on the beach, but they don't bat their eyes with the military's complete desecration and bombing of Makua Valley; another place from which Hawaiians were evicted over 50 years ago.

AND another thing: the U.S. Army (Continental Army) was formed in June 14, 1775, the Marine Corps (Continental Marines) was formed November 10, 1775. Those ARE the birthdates of each branch according to today, and both of which fought in the AMERICAN Revolutionary War. Yes, Militiamen did serve in the war, BUT they served in the war for a rightful cause... which of course they fought for this soil.

Then you are a hypocrite because in the last comment you mentioned that, "the military is nothing more than a bunch of lying whores and will continue to be." How can you say you like a military branch, when you've stated the above? PLUS, general George Washington lead the COLONIAL ARMY (of the 13 original colonies) against the British regular army in combat which freed this nation. It WASN'T a militia. Let me tell you something, in Iraq, your precious Army, shot a donkey just for fun.
